Attorney Charles Lukis

Born and raised in Chicago, Charles Lukis graduated with distinction from Indiana University. While there, he was on the Dean’s List and earned membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. He received his degree in political science and African American Studies in 2003.

He went on to attend law school at Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated in 2006. In law school, he was on the Washington University Global Studies Law Review and a member of the school's 2004 Negotiation Competition. He attended as a Walter Moran Farmer Scholar.

While studying law, Charles Lukis worked as an intern in the St. Louis County Public Defender’s office where he developed a keen interest in litigation. After law school, Lukis worked as a prosecutor in the Macon County State’s Attorney’s office in Decatur. In that position, he obtained extensive trial experience, prosecuted felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, made decisions on charging offenses, supervised the Drug Court Program and prosecuted juvenile criminal cases. He worked there until April of 2010, when he joined Hausmann-McNally, S.C. in their Decatur office.

Lukis now focuses on helping victims of automobile, motorcycle and truck accidents recover from their losses and injuries. He also works with families who have lost loved ones through wrongful death incidents.

Lukis, his wife and two sons live in the Decatur area. His community activities include serving as a volunteer coach for his son’s flag football team.
