Paul Pobereyko has been an extremely productive and active attorney since graduating from Chicago’s DePaul University Law School in 1991.
In the past five years when he has practiced in Indiana, he has taken over 50 jury cases to verdict, 18 cases in the past year alone.
Earlier in his career, he practiced law in Chicago. At one point, he was an attorney in the case that resulted in the largest settlement in Illinois history. The Willis case involved a family whose children were killed after the mud flap on an 18-wheeler fell off . The flap punctured and ignited fumes from the gas tank of a van in which a minister was traveling with his family. Three of the couplet’s children, who were riding in the back, burned to death as a result. The 10 defendants in the case paid $100 million to the surviving parents. This was just one of the high-profile cases Pobereyko has tried.
He was raised in Chicago and attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he earned a degree in biology in 1979.
Between college and law school, he worked for five years as a biologist/chemist for Chicago-area steel mill. He became interested in the law while dealing with environmental and legal issues relating to his job.
Pobereyko, his wife Karen and their sons live in the Munster, Indiana area. He has devoted involved much of his leisure time to youth athletics coaching youth sports for all age groups for the last 15 years. His two two teen-age sons, Matt and Danny, are involved in both baseball and basketball. One son’s recent injury has resulted in a setback to a promising college baseball career. The experience has given Pobereyko a keen awareness of the problems that an injury can cause and how disruptive it can be.
In March of 2010, he began working with the Hausmann-McNally, S.C., law firm in their Merriville, Indiana office. He now focuses on helping people who have been injured in automobile, truck or motorcycle accidents.
