Attorney David J. Bischmann was born in Milwaukee, grew up in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1984. He earned an undergraduate degree—with distinction—in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his law degree from UW-Madison in 1991. While a law student, he served as associate managing editor of the Wisconsin International Law Journal.
After working for a small, general practice law firm in Sheboygan, Attorney Bischmann became the law clerk to Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Harry S. Snyder from 1993 to 1995. In 1995, he went on to serve as law clerk to Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley during her first term on the court.
Attorney Bischmann brought his extensive legal research, writing and appellate expertise to his current position with Hausmann-McNally, S.C. in the fall of 1996. He serves as the “go-to” lawyer at the firm concentrating on pre-trial motions, research, litigation support and appeals. Attorney Bischmann serves as a resource for the staff attorneys for drafting, researching and helping with complicated legal issues. He functions as the firm’s intellectual nerve center and provides scholarship, intellect and wisdom to the firm’s trial teams. In 2003, Attorney Bischmann was named a partner and shareholder in the firm, and continues to use his unique expertise to help fight for the firm's injured clients and maximize their recovery.
Bischmann lives in Hartland, Wisconsin with his wife Heidi and their sons Michael and Zachary. Heidi Bischmann is marketing manager for R&B Wagner, a company that specializes in custom pipe bending and decorative metal items for commercial and residential use. An avid bicyclist, Bischmann has participated in the Trek 100 and other recreational events. He is a regular volunteer coach for his sons’ sports teams and an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha.
Bischmann is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, the Eastern and Western Districts of the United States Court of Wisconsin and the Seventh Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the American Association for Justice and the Wisconsin Association for Justice.
