Attorney Edward F. Kardelis grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois, in 1997.
He attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2001.
While an undergraduate, Kardelis spent a semester in Australia studying that country’s political and criminal justice systems. He was a member of the Criminal Justice Honor Society as well as the International Honor Society. He also interned with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms and worked on preparations for a homicide bombing trial for the U.S. Attorney’s office.
In 2004, he received his law degree and graduated from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. In law school, he served as a law clerk for the Chicago law firm Ripes, Nelson, Baggot and Kalobratsos (RNBK) which specialized in insurance defense principally for major companies. He also served as a volunteer in the Criminal Justice Clinic with a focus on helping sentenced individuals with their appeals.
After graduation, he went to work full time as an attorney at RNBK, where he worked for two years. He joined the Rockford branch of Hausmann-McNally in 2006. He now heads up that office, managing and litigating a large number of the firm’s most important cases in northern Illinois. He focuses on cases that result from automobile, truck, motorcycle and bicycle accidents and has litigated and settled numerous cases for the firm’s clients in these areas.
Kardelis has spent time as a volunteer junior high basketball coach. When not practicing law, he likes to golf, travel and cheer for Michigan State athletic teams.
Kardelis and his wife Meghan live in Batavia, Illinois.
